The jury honored our pioneering project with the «ICONIC AWARD 2020: Innovative Architecture - Selection».
The German Design Council has awarded the ICONIC AWARD 2020. Among them is the pioneer project B-Part Am Gleisdreieck of the project developer and investor COPRO. The jury honoured the innovative overall concept in the category «Architecture: Special» with the independent seal of approval of international standing «ICONIC AWARD 2020: Innovative Architecture - Selection».
The temporary timber construction is located on the site of the future Urban Mitte Am Gleisdreieck. It is an experimental laboratory and combines coworking space with art studios, multifunctional rooms, events, a café with beer garden and a freely accessible sports park. Sharabi Architects designed the two-storey wooden building. Renggli International AG has been responsible as general contractor and timber constructor.
Marc F. Kimmich, founder of COPRO and initiator of the B-Part explains: «The B-Part was and is a very personal project for me. In its role as a pioneer of the Urban Centre Am Gleisdreieck, it was intended to be a meeting place for everyone. The result shows an extraordinary team effort and is already creating an innovative and urban urban space - which has now even received an award».
The award is the first independent, international architecture and design competition that takes into account multiple disciplines. The jury is made up of members from the fields of architecture, interior design, design and brand communication.
We are pleased about this great recognition, together with our partners Scharabi Architekten, COPRO Sales & Services GmbH, Supersupply Ltd. and ifb.
