Aletsch Campus is an emblematic example of the synergies of the combination of concrete and timber construction.
In 2016, a new center for the municipality of Naters was opened on a plot of 7,000 m2. The whole project includes six buildings: the World Nature Forum, the visitor and information center of the Jungfrau Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site, three residential buildings, an office building and a day care center.
Renggli International (former SMC Management Contractors SA) developed the project as the general planner. In 2014 this project was selected to participate in the pilot phase of developing Swiss Sustainable Building Standard, and it performed excellent in social, economic and environmental dimensions.
