A milestone in swiss timber construction: three long buildings with six levels at the Freilager Zürich with swiss wood.
The three long buildings at the former Freilager site in Zurich represent a milestone in timber construction: they illustrate that timber can be a competitive choice in major projects. The architects’ chosen ground plan typology proved ideally suited to construction using timber elements. The hundred-fold repetition of the same elements made timber highly competitive – both financially and in terms of build time.
